UEFA Champions League is a prestigious competition where Socios.com will now get brand exposure.
European football governing body UEFA has announced a partnership with Socios.com, according to an announcement made on Tuesday.
Per the press statement, Socios.com is now EUFA’s official fan token partner, the first such deal involving the soccer body.
The Global Licensing and Regional Sponsorship agreement means Socios.com will work with UEFA on fan engagement via tokens for the flagship Champions League as well as the Europa League, Europa Conference League and the UEFA Super Cup.
Socios is now also the regional sponsor for the prestigious Champions League in the United States, the statement added.
Socios.com will benefit from brand exposure on match days via virtual perimeter boards and digital rights among others.
Alexandre Dreyfus, the chief executive of Socios.com said that the partnership will allow “hundreds of millions of fans” to get more than just the thrill of being spectators.
“This ground-breaking partnership is a result of UEFA and Socios.com’s shared commitment to embracing innovation and technology to enhance the fan experience in sport,” he noted.
The announcement did not disclose the financial terms of the partnership, although it is expected the deal will run until 2024.
Fan Tokens allow holders to participate in certain decisions of their teams and competitions through the ability to vote. Socios.com has penned over 120 major deals with sporting organisations top teams/clubs, including in football, Formula 1, the National Hockey League (NHL) the NBA, and NFL.
Crypto.com, FTX and Bybit are some of the major crypto platforms to sign lucrative deals within the sports sector.
